Fort Hancock Mustangs (Fort Hancock, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Sierra Blanca Vaqueros (Sierra Blanca, TX), 43-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Fort Hancock upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Marfa (Marfa, TX) to play the Shorthorns in a non-league bout on Friday, November 17. The Shorthorns come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Marfa lost 69-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Alpine (Alpine, TX)

Next up, the Vaqueros confront the Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys (Grandfalls, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, November 17. Sierra Blanca will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Cowboys come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 70-42 non-league win over Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy (Midland, TX).
