Utah High School Basketball - Alta overwhelmed by Lehi
January 12, 2023: Sandy, UT 84094 The Alta Hawks basketball team (Sandy, UT), was overwhelmed 56-22 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT)
The Pioneers now possess a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mountain View for a 5A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, January 17. Lehi will confront a Bruins team coming off a 55-43 league loss to Timpanogos (Orem, UT). The Bruins record now stands at 5-5.
The Hawks (0-13) will now prepare for their battle against Timpview (Provo, UT). The Thunderbirds come into the 5A Region 8 battle with a 10-4 record. In their last battle, Timpview trounced Timpanogos (Orem, UT), 52-33, in a league battle.
First Quarter
Both teams got off to a slow start in the first quarter. Lehi scored 9 points and Alta had 6. Hadlie Warren hit a 3-pointer in the period.
Second Quarter
Lehi had a great second quarter scoring 24 points. Hadlie Warren, Addy Scrivner, and Sammi Love all hit a three in the period. Lehi held Alta to just 4 points and the score at the end of the first half is 33 to 10 in favor of the Pioneers.
Third Quarter
Addy Scrivner scored 7 of Lehi's 13 third quarter points. Alta scored 10 points and the score going into the final quarter is Lehi 46 and Alta 20.
Fourth Quarter
Phoenix Sweat hit a three- point shot in the fourth period as Lehi scored a total of 10 points. Alta only managed to make 2 foul shots in the quarter. The final score is Lehi 56 and Alta 22. Addy Scrivner led all scorers with 16 points and Sammi Love dished out 6 assists.
