Preston Knights (Kingwood, WV) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Lewis County Minutemen (Weston, WV), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Preston upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV) to play the Indians in a Big Ten bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 5-1. Bridgeport won 58-29 in their recent league bout against Liberty (Clarksburg, WV)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) in a Big Ten test, on Wednesday, January 10. Lewis County will attempt to advance on its 6-5 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 3-4 record after their 56-45 league loss to Elkins (Elkins, WV).
