January 17, 2023: Blue Springs, MS 38828

The Walnut Wildcats basketball team scored 54 points and held the host East Union Urchins to 40 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Baldwyn for a 2A Region 1 contest on Thursday, January 19. Walnut will battle a Bearcats team coming off a 53-49 league loss to New Site (New Site, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 4-5.

The Urchins (15-6) will now prepare for their contest against Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Panthers enter the 2A Region 1 contest with a 2-16 record. In their last contest, Pine Grove was defeated by Belmont (Belmont, MS), 84-40, in a league contest.
