The New Caney Eagles (New Caney, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Center Roughriders (Center, TX), 55-49 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Eagles (5-4) will now prepare for their test against Humble (Humble, TX). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, Humble got by Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX), 56-37, in a non-league match.

With the defeat, Center moves to 4-3 on the year. The Roughriders host Central Heights (Nacogdoches, TX) to meet the Blue Devils in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 7.
