January 14, 2023: Howard, SD 57349 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Howard Tigers (Howard, SD) and the visiting Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans (Mt. Vernon, SD), saw Howard's basketball squad hold off Mt. Vernon/Plankinton by a tally of 53-47.
With the victory, Howard improves its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Hanson (Alexandria, SD) to confront the Beavers in a non-league test on Tuesday, January 17. The Beavers go into the test with a record of 8-2. Hanson won 48-42 in their recent non-league test against Castlewood (Castlewood, SD)
The Titans now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Redfield for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 17. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will encounter a Pheasants squad coming off a 37-25 league loss to Milbank (Milbank, SD). The Pheasants record now stands at 5-5.
