In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), by a margin of 51-35.

The Trojans (6-4) will now prepare for their outing against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Blackhawks go into the non-league outing with a 4-8 record. In their last outing, West Wilkes was beaten by Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 58-52, in a non-league outing.

The Blue Devils now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Galax for a Mountain Empire outing on Tuesday, January 3. Grayson County will clash with a Maroon Tide squad coming off a 88-38 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 0-7.
