North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central routs Watauga

In Tuesday's league outing, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), by a margin of 64-43.

The Cougars (17-4) will now prepare for their outing against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans go into the 3A/4A Northwestern outing with a 9-12 record. In their last outing, South Caldwell was trounced by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 52-48, in a league outing.

The Pioneers now own a 17-4 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a 3A/4A Northwestern outing on Friday, February 9. Watauga will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 49-39 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 15-5.
