The Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) baseball nipped the host Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC), 2-1 in Tuesday's league contest.

Coming up next, the Screaming Eagle play the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A contest, on Friday, March 31. Ashley will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Pirates enter the contest with a 5-5 record after their 3-1 league win over New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).

The Vikings now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Laney for a Mideastern 3A/4A contest on Friday, March 31. Hoggard will play a Buccaneers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to West Craven (Vanceboro, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 4-5.
