The Hanover Central Wildcats (Cedar Lake, IN) football defeated the host Wheeler Bearcats (Valparaiso, IN), 40-17 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the Hammond Morton Governors (Hammond, IN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, August 25. Hanover Central will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Governors enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 32-23 non-league win over Portage (Portage, IN).

The Bearcats (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield, IN). The Kougars enter the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Kankakee Valley was toppled by Rensselaer Central (Rensselaer, IN), 28-27, in a non-league game.
