North Carolina High School Basketball - Tuscola edges Smoky Mountain

January 17, 2024: Sylva, NC 28779

The Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) basketball nipped the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 62-58 in Wednesday's league test.

The Mountaineers (1-12) will now prepare for their test against West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Falcons go into the 3A Mountain 7 test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, West Henderson got by Franklin (Franklin, NC), 64-44, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 4-13 record. They play next when they travel to East Henderson for a 3A Mountain 7 test on Friday, January 19. Smoky Mountain will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 60-57 league win over Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 13-4.
