Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Freeman Flyers (Freeman, SD) and the host Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), saw Freeman's basketball squad knock off Avon by a tally of 78-62.

With the victory, Freeman improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Flyers travel to Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (Forestburg, SD) to play the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket won 55-49 in their recent league challenge against Hanson (Alexandria, SD)

Next up, the Pirates play the Freeman Academy/Marion (Freeman, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 29. Avon will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 55-22 non-league win over Menno (Menno, SD).
