The Albemarle Patriots basketball team (Charlottesville, VA), was nudged 48-45 in Friday's league battle with the host Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA)

The Mustangs now possess a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fluvanna County for a Jefferson battle on Tuesday, January 10. Monticello will battle a Flying Flucos team coming off a 65-22 league win over Goochland (Goochland, VA). The Flying Flucos record now stands at 8-3.

The Patriots (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Orange County (Orange, VA). The Fighting Hornets come into the Jefferson battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Orange County edged James Monroe (Fredericksburg, VA), 56-51, in a non-league battle.
