In Friday's league match, the host Weddington Warriors basketball team scored a decisive 87-56 triumph over the Cuthbertson Cavaliers.

In their next game, the Warriors meet the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina match, on Tuesday, January 23. Weddington will attempt to move on its 15-1 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 5-12 record after their 71-55 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
