Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the host Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), saw Weddington's basketball squad overcome Porter Ridge by a tally of 57-43.

With the victory, Weddington improves its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Sun Valley (Monroe, NC) to confront the Spartans in a 4A Southern Carolina challenge on Friday, January 12. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 5-10. Sun Valley lost 77-65 in their recent non-league challenge against Corvian Community (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Pirates confront the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina challenge, on Friday, January 12. Porter Ridge will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 63-55 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
