Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the host East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), saw Weddington's basketball squad overcome East Mecklenburg by a tally of 69-55.

With the victory, Weddington improves its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC) to confront the Pirates in a 4A Southern Carolina challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 5-10. Porter Ridge lost 80-58 in their recent league challenge against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Nation Ford Falcons (Fort Mill, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. East Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 57-52 non-league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
