Indiana High School Softball - South Bend Clay gets by Bremen
April 9, 2024: South Bend, IN 46637 The South Bend Clay Colonials (South Bend, IN) softball tipped the visiting Bremen Lions (Bremen, IN), 3-2 in Tuesday's league challenge.
The Colonials now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Bend St. Joseph for a Northern Indiana challenge on Wednesday, April 10. South Bend Clay will face a Huskies squad coming off a 6-1 league win over New Prairie (New Carlisle, IN). The Huskies record now stands at 3-0.
With the loss, Bremen falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Lions host Mishawaka Marian (Mishawaka, IN) to face the Knights in a Northern Indiana challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Mishawaka Marian won 14-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Concord (Elkhart, IN)

Lions Bat Silenced by Clay on Tuesday
The Lady Lion Softball team travelled to SB Clay for the final time on Tuesday & the host team took advantage of a miscue to take a 3-2 win.
The Lions could only muster 4 hits off the Colonial pitching. The hits came from Eliana Grubbs, Mickie Shively, Chrissy Grabowski, & Delainey Neher.
Shivley singled stole second & Neher singled in Shively for the first run in the top of the first frame. In the 4th inning Grubbs singled, advanced to 2nd & 3rd on a past ball & wild pitch then Shively hit a sacrafice fly to score Grubbs. That was all the offense could get on a great weather night for softball.
