In Friday's league match, the host Spring Lions basketball team scored a decisive 75-23 triumph over the Eisenhower Eagles.

In their next game, the Lions meet the Westfield Mustangs (Houston, TX) in a 6A Region II District 14 match, on Tuesday, January 17. Spring will attempt to move on its 17-7 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 15-3 record after their 60-25 league win over Aldine (Houston, TX).
