Pennsylvania High School Basketball - South Allegheny edges Mars

January 23, 2023: McKeesport, PA 15133

The South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), 59-55 in Monday's non-league test.

The Gladiators (14-1) will now prepare for their test against Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA). The Antelopes go into the WPIAL 4A 4 test with a 6-10 record. In their last test, Avonworth was tipped by Aliquippa (Aliquippa, PA), 45-38, in a non-league test.

The Fightin' Planets now own a 10-4 record. They play next when they host Montour for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 24. Mars will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 62-39 non-league loss to Moon Area (Moon Township, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 5-10.
