Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 8-7 in a league test.

With the win, Giles upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to battle the Maroons in a Mountain Empire test on Friday, March 25.
