The Canton Tigers basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Northwest Rankin Cougars to 58 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 11-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ridgeland for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 27. Canton will battle a Titans team coming off a 54-50 league loss to Callaway (Jackson, MS). The Titans record now stands at 6-5.

The Cougars (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Starkville (Starkville, MS). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league contest with a 12-1 record. In their last contest, Starkville nudged Terry (Terry, MS), 38-23, in a non-league contest.
