South Dakota High School Basketball - Viborg/Hurley overwhelms Avon
January 17, 2023: Viborg, SD 57070 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Viborg/Hurley Cougars (Viborg, SD) and the visiting Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), saw Viborg/Hurley's basketball squad wallop Avon by a tally of 58-29.
With the victory, Viborg/Hurley improves its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Baltic (Baltic, SD) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 2-8. Baltic lost 60-49 in their recent league challenge against McCook Central/Montrose (Salem, SD)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD) in a B Region 5 challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Avon will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The come into the challenge with a 6-1 record after their 67-47 league win over Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD).
