The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) baseball trounced the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 9-1 in Tuesday's league contest.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the West Rowan Falcons (Mt. Ulla, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, April 19. Alexander Central will attempt to better on its 16-4 season record. The Falcons enter the contest with a 12-5 record after their 7-6 league win over East Rowan (Salisbury, NC).

The Pioneers now sport a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A outing on Friday, April 21. Watauga will confront a Panthers team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Chase (Forest City, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 5-13.
