Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Calvert Cavaliers (Prince Frederick, MD), 66-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Northern upgrades its record to 2-8 on the season. The Patriots host Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD) to play the Hurricanes in a Southern Maryland match on Friday, January 17. The Hurricanes enter the match with a record of 8-4. Huntingtown won 57-55 in their recent league match against Leonardtown (Leonardtown, MD)

With the defeat, Calvert moves to 4-7 on the year. The Cavaliers host Great Mills (Great Mills, MD) to meet the Hornets in a Southern Maryland match on Friday, January 17. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 9-3. Great Mills won 64-40 in their recent league match against North Point (Waldorf, MD)
