Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Union Bears (Appalachia, VA), 68-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Abingdon upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Falcons host John Battle (Bristol, VA) to clash with the Trojans in a Mountain bout on Friday, January 13. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-6. John Battle lost 54-40 in their recent league bout against Gate City (Gate City, VA)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Ridgeview Wolfpack (Clintwood, VA) in a Mountain bout, on Thursday, January 12. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 73-61 non-league win over Honaker (Honaker, VA).
