The Union Bears basketball team (Appalachia, VA), was nudged 67-64 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA)
The Falcons now possess a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lord Botetourt for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 21. Abingdon will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 65-51 league loss to Fleming (Roanoke, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 15-10.
With the defeat, Union moves to 8-11 on the year. The Bears host Gate City (Gate City, VA) to meet the Blue Devils in a Mountain match on Friday, March 10. The Blue Devils enter the match with a record of 11-12. Gate City lost 67-64 in their recent league match against Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA)
