The Cornell Raiders basketball team (Coraopolis, PA), was toppled 51-31 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Avella Eagles (Avella, PA)
The Eagles now possess a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carlynton for a WPIAL 1A 1 battle on Friday, January 13. Avella will confront a Cougars team coming off a 65-47 league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 9-3.
The Raiders (0-10) will now prepare for their battle against Western Beaver (Industry, PA). The Golden Beavers come into the WPIAL 1A 1 battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Western Beaver was toppled by Union Area (New Castle, PA), 72-38, in a league battle.
