The Cornell Raiders basketball team (Coraopolis, PA), was nudged 55-50 in Friday's league battle with the host Avella Eagles (Avella, PA)
The Eagles now possess a 6-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carlynton for a WPIAL 1A 1 battle on Tuesday, February 7. Avella will battle a Cougars team coming off a 58-43 league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 13-6.
The Raiders (1-18) will now prepare for their battle against Western Beaver (Industry, PA). The Golden Beavers come into the WPIAL 1A 1 battle with a 9-11 record. In their last battle, Western Beaver was nudged by Union Area (New Castle, PA), 89-39, in a league battle.
