West Virginia High School Basketball - Nicholas County overwhelms Braxton County

January 10, 2023: Sutton, WV 26601

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) and the host Braxton County Eagles (Sutton, WV), saw Nicholas County's basketball squad wallop Braxton County by a tally of 75-53.

With the victory, Nicholas County improves its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Midland Trail (Hico, WV) to confront the Patriots in a Coalfield A challenge on Friday, January 13. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 5-1. Midland Trail won 62-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Sherman (Seth, WV)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Calhoun Red Devils (Mt. Zion, WV) in a Little Kanawha - East challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Braxton County will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 68-66 non-league loss to Valley (Pine Grove, WV).
