The Canon-McMillan Big Macs basketball team (Canonsburg, PA), was nudged 46-44 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA)

The Spartans now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Baldwin for a WPIAL 6A 2 battle on Friday, January 13. Hempfield Area will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 72-48 league win over Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Highlanders record now stands at 8-5.

The Big Macs (3-9) will now prepare for their battle against Upper St. Clair (Upper St. Clair, PA). The Panthers come into the WPIAL 6A 2 battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Upper St. Clair was nudged by Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA), 74-69, in a league battle.
