The Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles basketball team scored 77 points and held the host Carroll Tigers to 49 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 16-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Flour Bluff for a 5A Region IV District 29 contest on Friday, January 13. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will meet a Hornets team coming off a 63-38 league win over Corpus Christi Moody (Corpus Christi, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 17-8.

The Tigers (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against King (Corpus Christi, TX). The Mustangs enter the 5A Region IV District 29 contest with a 14-11 record. In their last contest, King was routed by Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (Corpus Christi, TX), 74-62, in a league contest.
