In Tuesday's league outing, the Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX) basketball squad beat the host Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), by a margin of 56-46.

The Cougars (12-9) will now prepare for their outing against Coronado (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs go into the 5A Region I District 4 outing with a 14-7 record. In their last outing, Coronado defeated Wylie (Abilene, TX), 73-67, in a league outing.

The Westerners now own a 3-21 record. They play next when they travel to Monterey for a 5A Region I District 4 outing on Friday, January 13. Lubbock will clash with a Plainsmen squad coming off a 40-37 league win over Cooper (Abilene, TX). The Plainsmen record now stands at 15-8.
