Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL) and the host Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL), saw East Alton-Wood River's basketball squad hold off Litchfield by a tally of 50-43.
With the victory, East Alton-Wood River improves its record to 8-12 on the campaign. The Oilers travel to Columbia (Columbia, IL) to play the Eagles in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Friday, January 13. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 16-2.
