In Tuesday's league outing, the Mt. Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, TX) basketball squad beat the host Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), by a margin of 70-51.

The Tigers (23-0) will now prepare for their match against Longview (Longview, TX). The Lobos enter the 5A Region II District 15 match with a 18-3 record. In their last match, Longview knocked off Texas (Texarkana, TX), 65-49, in a league match.

With the defeat, Pine Tree moves to 9-10 on the year. The Pirates travel to Marshall (Marshall, TX) to meet the Mavericks in a 5A Region II District 15 match on Friday, January 13. The Mavericks enter the match with a record of 11-15. Marshall lost 45-33 in their recent league match against Hallsville (Hallsville, TX)
