Texas High School Basketball - Porter ripped by Weslaco East

The Weslaco East Wildcats basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Porter Cowboys to 32 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 14-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lopez for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, January 13. Weslaco East will battle a Lobos team coming off a 35-32 league loss to Donna (Donna, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 17-7.

The Cowboys (8-14) will now prepare for their contest against Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX). The Chargers enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 10-10 record. In their last contest, Veterans Memorial was routed by Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX), 42-24, in a league contest.
