Monument Valley Cougars (Monument Valley, UT) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Green River Pirates (Green River, UT), 68-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Monument Valley upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Red Mesa (Teec Nos Pos, AZ) to clash with the Redskins in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Redskins go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Red Mesa lost 59-40 in their recent league bout against St. Michael (St. Michaels, AZ)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Monticello Buckaroo (Monticello, UT) in a 1A Region 23 bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Green River will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Buckaroo go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 67-26 non-league loss to Grand County (Moab, UT).
