Utah High School Basketball - Monument Valley tops Green River

Monument Valley Cougars (Monument Valley, UT) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Green River Pirates (Green River, UT), 72-53 in a league bout.
With the victory, Monument Valley upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Monticello (Monticello, UT) to play the Buckaroo in a 1A Region 23 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Buckaroo come into the bout with a record of 3-13.
Next up, the Pirates play the Tintic Miners (Eureka, UT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 9. Green River will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Miners come into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 50-37 non-league loss to Intermountain Christian (Salt Lake City, UT).
