The Jayton Jaybirds (Jayton, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Patton Springs Rangers (Afton, TX), 2-0 in Tuesday's league test.
The Jaybirds (13-2) will now prepare for their test against Guthrie (Guthrie, TX). The Jaguars go into the 1A Region I District 5 test with a 1-4 record.
The Rangers now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Paducah for a 1A Region I District 5 test on Friday, January 13. Patton Springs will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 66-38 league win over Motley County (Matador, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 16-7.
