Texas High School Basketball - Taft can't hold off Odem

The Odem Owls basketball team scored 36 points and held the visiting Taft Greyhounds to 34 in the Owls league triumph on Tuesday.
The Owls now sport a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mathis for a 3A Region IV District 29 contest on Friday, January 13. Odem will battle a Pirates team coming off a 45-28 league loss to Goliad (Goliad, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 13-13.
The Greyhounds (5-21) will now prepare for their contest against George West (George West, TX). The Longhorns enter the 3A Region IV District 29 contest with a 13-12 record. In their last contest, George West was nudged by Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX), 92-14, in a league contest.
