St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Slaughter Community Charter Knights (Slaughter, LA), 46-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Edmund upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Fighting Blue Jays travel to Westminster Academy (Opelousas, LA) to clash with the Crusaders in a 1A District 6 bout on Friday, January 13. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 8-3. Westminster Academy won 63-8 in their recent non-league bout against Gueydan (Gueydan, LA)
