Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 70-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Freedom upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Patriots host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 6-6. Ashe County lost 60-48 in their recent non-league bout against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Spartans play the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. South Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 42-37 non-league win over Watauga (Boone, NC).
