North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom edges South Caldwell

The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball nipped the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 53-49 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Patriots (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league test with a 6-12 record. In their last test, Ashe County was tipped by Draughn (Valdese, NC), 62-47, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 7-9 record. They play next when they travel to Alexander Central for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. South Caldwell will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 47-34 non-league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 14-3.
