In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), by a count of 50-25.

The Tigers (5-8) will now prepare for their outing against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals go into the non-league outing with a 9-3 record. In their last game, Union Academy routed Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC), 58-37, in a non-league game.

With the defeat, North Stanly moves to 3-9 on the year. The Comets host Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a non-league game on Saturday, January 14. The Yellow Jackets enter the game with a record of 4-5. Forest Hills lost 53-42 in their recent non-league game against Monroe (Monroe, NC)
