The Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) basketball knocked off the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), 42-26 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Spartans (6-8) will now prepare for their test against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 2-8 record.
The Panthers now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Forest Hills for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 11. Piedmont will encounter a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 53-24 non-league win over Central Academy (Monroe, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 4-4.
