Arroyo Knights (El Monte, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South El Monte Eagles (South El Monte, CA), 50-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Arroyo upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Knights host Gabrielino (San Gabriel, CA) to play the Eagles in a Mission Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 10-10. Gabrielino won 79-44 in their recent league bout against Rosemead (Rosemead, CA)

Next up, the Eagles play the El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA) in a Mission Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. South El Monte will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 1-19 record after their 51-39 league loss to Marshall (Pasadena, CA).
