Virginia High School Basketball - Galax knocked off by Grayson County

January 10, 2024: Galax, VA 24333

The Grayson County Blue Devils basketball team scored 51 points and held the host Galax Maroon Tide to 41 in the Blue Devils league triumph on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Giles for a Mountain Empire contest on Friday, January 12. Grayson County will meet a Spartans team coming off a 66-65 league loss to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-9.

The Maroon Tide (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Auburn (Riner, VA). The Eagles enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Auburn ran past George Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 56-52, in a league contest.
