In Wednesday's league outing, the Mapletown Maples (Greensboro, PA) basketball squad edged the host Geibel Catholic Gators (Connellsville, PA), by a margin of 70-65.
The Maples (2-8) will now prepare for their outing against Monessen (Monessen, PA). The Greyhounds go into the WPIAL 1A 2 outing with a 8-1 record. In their last outing, Monessen held off Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA), 60-41, in a league outing.
The Gators now own a 0-12 record. They play next when they travel to Winchester Thurston for a non-league outing on Thursday, January 11. Geibel Catholic will clash with a squad coming off a 56-52 league win over Nazareth Prep (Pittsburgh, PA). The record now stands at 6-5.
