In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC), by a count of 72-48.

The Comets (4-7) will now prepare for their outing against Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC). The Stallions go into the outing with a 3-9 record. In their last outing, Queen's Grant was crushed by South Charlotte Thunder (Matthews, NC), 54-11, in a non-league outing.

The Patriots now hold a 5-4 record. They play next when they host Jackson Day for a non-league battle on Friday, January 12. Piedmont Community Charter will confront a Mariners team coming off a 49-12 league win over The John Crosland School (Charlotte, NC). The Mariners record now stands at 7-9.
