Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC), 41-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Carolina International upgrades its record to 7-7 on the campaign. The Comets host Jackson Day (Charlotte, NC) to play the Mariners in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Mariners come into the bout with a record of 9-11.

Next up, the Patriots play the Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Piedmont Community Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 55-34 non-league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).
