The Grayson County Blue Devils basketball team (Independence, VA), was nudged 29-26 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA)
The Maroon Tide now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Auburn for a non-league battle on Friday, January 12. Galax will battle a Eagles team coming off a 30-21 non-league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-6.
The Blue Devils (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans come into the non-league battle with a 9-2 record. In their last battle, Giles edged Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA), 52-51, in a non-league battle.
